kid crafts

what do you do when two kids aren't getting along and you still have two more hours to keep everyone entertained? you make slime and playdough! yep, it sure did the trick and we had a lovely day after all.
click here for the slim recipe. you can use clear glue or white glue. i used the white glue but i think the clear glue would be better. it would look more like slime. it's really gooey when you first make it and then it takes shape after you let the kids play with it for a while. by evening, it turned into a putty which was pretty cool. i stored it in a ziploc bag and it's still good. the kids love it.

i don't remember where i found the playdough recipe but you can find many versions online. basically, i just put 1 c water, 1 c salt and 1/2 c flour in a pan over low heat until it turned into a dough. then i removed from heat to cool. you can add food coloring to the dough but i got distracted and forgot. the kids didn't mind at all. i have it stored in a ziploc baggie and it's still soft.

have fun.
